Family fun fall activities at home keep the whole family entertained – and you don’t even have to get the kids all packed up in the car!
Fall is a great time of year for family fun. The weather is perfect for exciting outdoor games and cozy indoor activities. Here’s a list of our favorite things to do at home during the fall season:
- Fall crafts
Autumn is teeming with crafty opportunities! Between Halloween, Thanksgiving, and all the colorful changing leaves, it’s almost impossible to not feel inspired. Gather up all the crafty supplies you have around the house (and maybe a few freshly fallen leaves) and let your imaginations run wild.
- Bake cookies
Is there anything better than a warm house filled with the smell of freshly baked cookies on a chilly autumn afternoon? Bring your little ones into the kitchen and allow them to help shape cookies, mix batter, and tidy up. Baking can be great bonding time and helps little ones practice fine motor skills.
- Roast marshmallows
It’s the perfect time of year for an outdoor fire, roasted marshmallows, and smores! If you have an outdoor space big enough and a firepit, use can this opportunity to teach children about the importance of fire safety while you enjoy the warmth and coziness it offers.
- Lawn games
Summer lawn games can be fun, but it often gets too hot! Now, your family can enjoy a whole day of tossing cornhole bags, throwing frisbees, or playing a ball game without worrying about heat exhaustion. Make sure everyone still wears SPF though! UV rays are still dangerous on cold and cloudy days.
